WoW Forever Profession Improvements and Complete XP Food Guide
Professions will play a larger role throughout the entire leveling journey in World of Warcraft: Forever. Blizzard is updating the profession interface with recipe tracking, searchable filters, and shareable profession books, while Cooking receives an additional reason to remain relevant from the first levels to the endgame.
Many cooked meals can now provide the new Well Fed XP Boost. In addition to their normal combat or profession bonus, supported meals increase experience gained from kills by 5%.
All features and food effects in this article are based on the current WoW Forever beta and may be adjusted before release.

WoW Forever Profession Improvements at a Glance
| Feature | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Recipe Tracking | Displays the required materials on the objective tracker. |
| Profession Chat Links | Lets other players inspect your profession skill and available recipes. |
| Recipe Filters | Filters recipes by skill-ups, available materials, equipment slot, or name. |
| XP Food | Supported Well Fed bonuses provide 5% additional experience from kills. |
| New Recipes | More than 600 new recipes are currently documented for WoW Forever. |
Track Recipes Like Quests
The WoW Forever profession window includes a new tracking checkbox near the Create All button. Selecting it adds the recipe and its required materials to the objective tracker on the right side of the screen.
This is particularly useful when gathering materials in the open world or shopping at the Auction House. Instead of reopening the profession window repeatedly, you can see exactly how many reagents are still missing.

Share Your Profession Book in Chat
Players can link an entire profession book through chat. A new chat-bubble button appears beside the profession skill bar and opens a menu where you can choose the destination channel.
Other players can open the link to inspect your profession level and learned recipes. This should make it easier to advertise crafting services or confirm that a crafter knows the required recipe before providing materials.
New Recipe Filters
With more than 600 new recipes appearing in WoW Forever, the profession window needs better navigation. The updated interface provides four useful options:
- Has Skill Up: shows recipes that can currently improve your profession skill.
- Have Materials: displays only recipes you can craft with the materials in your inventory.
- Slots: filters crafted equipment by slot, including trinkets and other gear.
- Search Bar: finds a recipe directly by name.

Which Food Should You Use While Leveling?
The best option is usually the cheapest supported meal that provides a useful stat for your character. Keeping the 5% kill-experience bonus active matters more for leveling speed than gaining a few additional points of a secondary stat.
- Strength classes: choose Strength or Attack Power food.
- Agility classes: choose Agility or Attack Power food.
- Spellcasters: use Intellect or Spell Damage food.
- Healers: use Healing Power or Intellect food.
- Gatherers: movement-speed or profession-skill food may save more time than a combat stat.
Because the bonus only improves experience from kills, it will have the greatest value while grinding enemies, farming materials, or completing objectives with high mob density. It will have less impact during travel or quest turn-ins.
Why These Changes Matter
Classic professions often require external notes, addons, or repeated visits to the profession window. Recipe tracking and filters remove much of that friction without replacing the original gathering and crafting structure.
The XP bonus also creates steady demand for low-level Cooking materials. Fish, meat, herbs, and recipes that players previously ignored may remain useful throughout the leveling process, giving both cooks and gatherers more opportunities to earn gold.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Well Fed increase quest experience?
The current tooltip specifically states that experience gained from kills is increased by 5%. It does not describe a 5% increase to quest rewards.
Does every cooked meal provide the XP bonus?
No. Only supported meals currently provide the additional effect, and some food tooltips may still be incomplete during the beta.
Can another player inspect my recipes?
Yes. You can link your profession book in chat, allowing other players to inspect your profession skill and available recipes.
Can the food list change before release?
Yes. WoW Forever is still in beta, so recipes, required skill levels, stat bonuses, and XP effects may be changed in later builds.
