WoW Forever: Quest Weapons Worth Chasing at Levels 20–30

WoW Forever: Quest Weapons Worth Chasing at Levels 20–30

A good weapon can make leveling feel completely different. Enemies that used to demand every cooldown become manageable, your attacks start landing harder, and the next quest hub suddenly looks less intimidating. In WoW Forever, some of those upgrades come from quests rather than repeatedly hoping a dungeon boss drops the right item.

There are familiar targets such as Whirlwind Axe, but Forever also adds new rewards and changes existing weapons. Paladins have elemental procs to look forward to, Shamans get a substantial level-30 weapon chain, and the new Wetlands quests provide useful options for several classes.

This guide uses the Forever beta database checked on October 17, 2026. The levels below are planning targets, not promises of easy solo completion. Some chains open at 30 but send you against significantly stronger enemies.

Class Weapons That Make the Journey Worthwhile

Warrior: Whirlwind Axe

Whirlwind Axe remains a recognizable leveling milestone: 35.56 weapon DPS, 3.60 speed, +16 Strength, and +15 Stamina. Its item level is 40, but the reward chain is available to Warriors from level 30. Those are two different numbers, and confusing them can make you miss an early opportunity.

How to get it: Follow the level-30 Warrior class quests into Bath'rah the Windwatcher's chain. Cyclonian requires 8 Liferoot, 30 Bloodscalp Tusks, and an Essence of the Exile before the later confrontation. Finish the chain and choose the axe from Whirlwind Weapon. Arrange help for the difficult stages instead of treating the unlock level as a solo recommendation.

Alliance Paladin: Verigan's Fist

Verigan's Fist has more personality in Forever than a simple stat stick. Alongside 25.63 DPS, it can trigger 39–59 Holyfire damage, with triple proc damage against Fire and Earth Elementals.

How to get it: Progress through The Test of Righteousness and gather Jordan Stilwell's requested materials: Whitestone Oak Lumber, Jordan's Refined Ore Shipment, Jordan's Smithing Hammer, and a Purified Kor Gem. The route involves Deadmines, Shadowfang Keep, and Blackfathom Deeps objectives, plus the ore shipment task. Check the material quests before traveling so a dungeon visit actually advances your weapon.

Undead Paladin: Wolfsbane

Wolfsbane is the Horde-side class adventure to investigate if you play an Undead Paladin. The two-handed sword has 25.59 DPS, +9 Stamina, and +10 Intellect. Its proc deals 39–59 Holystorm damage, tripled against Wolves and Worgen.

How to get it: Follow the Undead Paladin storyline through the forging of the Moonsilver Blade, then continue to Old Fire-Eye. Use that blade against the named enemy in Silverpine Forest and complete the turn-in for Wolfsbane. Do not mistake the Moonsilver Blade for the finished reward.

Shaman: Three Rewards from The Tempest's Weapons

The level-30 Shaman chain offers a meaningful choice. Rage of the Storm is a two-handed mace with 35.63 DPS and a 10% Stormstrike damage bonus. Lightning's Grasp provides up to +46 spell damage and healing, plus 1% Lightning Bolt critical strike chance. Tidebringer's Claw instead supplies up to +86 healing, +28 spell damage, and 2% critical strike chance for Healing Wave and Lesser Healing Wave.

How to get them: Continue after Call of Air through Elemental Aid, Storm, Earth, and Fire, and Heed My Call. The route includes Razorfen Kraul, collecting elemental totems, and a demanding encounter before the final delivery to Bath'rah. Finish the Alliance version or the Horde version and choose for your intended role. Rage of the Storm's weapon damage matters immediately; its Stormstrike effect only helps once you have that ability.

Warlock: Staff of Soran'ruk

Staff of Soran'ruk is worth checking rather than assuming the quest's namesake orb is the automatic pick. The Forever staff gives +14 Stamina and up to +34 damage to both Fire and Shadow spells, directly matching much of a Warlock's offensive toolkit.

How to get it: At level 20 or above, speak to Doan Karhan in the Barrens for The Orb of Soran'ruk. Collect three Soran'ruk Fragments and one Large Soran'ruk Fragment through Blackfathom Deeps and Shadowfang Keep, then return and select the staff. Compare it with your existing main-hand and off-hand together, not just one slot.

Mage: A Wand for Your Spell School

The Mage's Wand chain offers Icefury Wand, Ragefire Wand, or Nether Force Wand. Each has +3 Intellect and up to +9 damage for its corresponding spell school, so the decision involves more than wand DPS.

How to get one: Begin the trainer-led route at level 30 and visit Tabetha in Dustwallow Marsh. Complete the material branch, Items of Power, and the book branch ending with Rituals of Power in Scarlet Monastery Library. Once both requirements are finished, return for the final choice. Prepare a Library group before committing to the journey.

Useful Quest Weapons Beyond the Class Chains

Priest and Other Wand Users: Gravestone Scepter

Gravestone Scepter is available before this guide's main bracket, but remains a sensible target if you enter your 20s with a weak wand. Its current Forever tooltip shows 29.00 wand DPS, +3 Spirit, and up to +6 Shadow spell damage. The Shadow bonus is particularly relevant to Shadow Priests and Warlocks.

How to get it: Pick up Blackfathom Villainy from Argent Guard Thaelrid inside Blackfathom Deeps and kill Twilight Lord Kelris. Take his head to the appropriate turn-in: Dawnwatcher Selgorm in Darnassus for Alliance or Bashana Runetotem in Thunder Bluff for Horde. The quest requires level 18, but completing the dungeon comfortably is a separate question.

Hunter: Quilboar Blaster

Quilboar Blaster is a new Forever quest reward with 18.57 ranged DPS, 2.80 speed, +4 Agility, and +4 Spirit. It is a predictable upgrade target if your current bow or gun has fallen behind, rather than another weapon you must win from a boss loot table.

How to get it: From level 29, pursue A Vengeful Fate for Horde or The Crone of the Kraul for Alliance. Both lead to Charlga Razorflank in Razorfen Kraul and award the gun in addition to a separate reward choice. Horde starts with Auld Stonespire in Thunder Bluff; Alliance follows the Lonebrow's Journal route to Falfindel Waywarder.

Druid and Other Physical Classes: Heavehammer

Heavehammer is a new two-handed mace worth comparing for a physical leveling setup, including Feral Druids. Its current stats are 27.73 DPS, +32 Attack Power, and +60 Armor. These are the current values, not the stronger bonuses you may encounter in older beta screenshots.

How to get it: Follow the Titan Relic quest route associated with Excavation Site: Wetlands. The reward comes from Prehistoric Prism for Alliance or Earthen Echo for Horde, both requiring level 24. The same turn-ins offer Healer's Staff, with up to +67 healing and 5 mana per five seconds. Restoration Druids, Priests, and other eligible healers should inspect that alternative before choosing the mace.

Rogue: Useful Daggers or a Class Adventure

For a practical dagger route from level 24, Alliance can investigate Subdued Dragon's Fang from Stopping the Cycle in Wetlands. Horde has Serrated Raptor Claw from Changing Tastes in Excavation Site: Wetlands. They are different items with different stats, not identical faction copies.

For the more distinctive class storyline, pursue The Eye of Bhossca for Ruby-Adorned Blade. Beta reports place the mailed introduction at level 30 after the earlier Horn of Xelthos chain, despite the database listing a minimum of 25. It involves Scarlet Monastery infiltration and a disguise. The sword has 23.91 DPS, 2.30 speed, +3 Agility, and +8 Stamina: an interesting class reward, but not an automatic upgrade for every Rogue build, especially one that requires daggers.
