WoW Patch 12.1.5 Aqir Invasions: Reputation, Mount and All Rewards

Aqir Invasions bring a new hourly activity to Eversong Woods and Zul'Aman in Patch 12.1.5. Players complete public objectives, fight an invasion boss and build reputation with the Aqir Research Enclave. The collection includes three pets, seven housing decorations, a toy and the Corrupted Swarmer mount.

The event also provides a weekly equipment cache and reputation catch-up rewards. For collectors, the main goal is reaching Exalted and saving enough Voidlight Marl to buy the rewards they want.

How Aqir Invasions Work

The new campaign, The Promise of Tomorrow, introduces the invading aqir and their researchers. Invasions begin at the top of each hour, with the active location marked on the zone map.

1. First 10 minutes: follow a chain of public objectives across the active zone.
2. Next 5 minutes: reach the final boss and defeat it before its timer expires.
3. Next hour: another invasion begins.

There are six scenario types, split between combat and non-combat objectives. Progress is shared by players on the same shard. Stay inside the active objective area when it completes, then move to the next marker.

Reputation and Currency from Participation

The latest PTR report lists 35 Enclave reputation and 50 Voidlight Marl per completed scenario, plus 100 reputation for defeating the final boss. Flying through airborne aqir during the event can award small amounts of reputation or Marl.

The boss has a separate reward area. Move to its marker as soon as the objective phase ends so you receive credit for the kill.

Weekly Cache and Reputation Token

The first successful boss kill of the week awards an Aqir Research Satchel. Its tooltip lists Champion equipment, upgrade materials, gold and Coffer Key Shards among its contents.

PTR reports also describe an Aqir Research Token, exchanged with Matildeux Osril in Silvermoon for reputation vouchers. These can provide up to 2,500 reputation with a Midnight faction. Spend the token promptly: it expires, and its exact distribution rules have varied between PTR builds.

Aqir Research Enclave Reputation

The Aqir Research Enclave uses traditional reputation standings. Reaching Exalted requires 5,000 total reputation.

Reputation unlocks purchases, while Voidlight Marl pays for them. Save the currency separately from your reputation progress, especially if the mount is your priority.

How to Get the Corrupted Swarmer

Reach Exalted, then purchase the Corrupted Swarmer from Estelia for 2,500 Voidlight Marl. It is a vendor mount, so its acquisition depends on reputation and currency rather than a random boss drop.

The Eight Combat Affixes

Combat scenarios can receive one of eight modifiers. Watch the active affix before pulling enemies:

• Void Protection: a Voidweaver can shield nearby aqir.
• Aqir Burrower: burrowing enemies launch nearby players into the air.
• Void Sphere: moving spheres attempt to trap players.
• Astalor's Anguish: crystals damage both aqir and adventurers.
• Swarms!: smaller enemies replace the normal aqir.
• Aqir Elites: fewer, stronger enemies appear.
• Void Infestation: infected enemies explode and spread their infestation.
• Web Weavers: interrupt their channels to avoid being webbed.

Bane of the Swarm Achievement and Title

The Bane of the Swarm meta-achievement awards the matching title. Complete these three requirements:

The six scenarios are Disrupt Aqir, Aqir Nesting Grounds, Aerial Assault, Aid Defenders!, Whack the Aqir and Reinforce Defenses. Check your missing criteria between runs so you can recognize the objectives you still need.
