WoW Patch 12.1.5 Labyrinths Award Myth Track Gear

WoW Patch 12.1.5 Labyrinths Award Myth Track Gear

The Labyrinth of Kindo'jan is becoming one of the most valuable character progression activities in World of Warcraft Patch 12.1.5. In addition to Champion and Hero-track rewards, players will be able to earn Myth 1/6 gear at item level 318 by completing special objectives inside the Labyrinth.

The system is especially useful because the resulting reward is not completely random. Players can select an eligible equipment slot, making the Labyrinth a practical way to replace a weak item or complete a character's Myth-track setup without waiting for the correct raid or Mythic+ drop.

The exact quest schedule was tested on the PTR and may still be adjusted for live servers. Blizzard has officially confirmed that the Labyrinth will award Mythic gear, but some fragment limits and weekly restrictions remain based on test-realm information.

How to Unlock the Myth Track Reward

Players must first unlock the Labyrinth of Kindo'jan and complete its introductory questline. After the introduction, a new NPC named Wah'du becomes available near the entrance or within the Chamber of Rites.

Wah'du assigns an objective tied to a particular chamber of the Labyrinth. The designated chamber must be completed on Tier 8 difficulty or higher.

Completing the assignment awards:

PTR testing allowed players to receive another similar objective for a different part of the Labyrinth. Current information suggests that these quests will be weekly-gated on live servers, rather than infinitely repeatable.

Step-by-Step Myth Gear Process

  1. Unlock the Labyrinth of Kindo'jan.
  2. Finish the introductory Labyrinth questline.
  3. Find Wah'du and accept his available assignment.
  4. Enter the requested chamber on Tier 8 or higher.
  5. Complete the chamber objective.
  6. Receive one Mythical Soul Fragment and 2,000 Undercoin.
  7. Collect three Mythical Soul Fragments.
  8. Combine the fragments into a Venerated Loa Armament.
  9. Use the armament and select the equipment slot you need.
  10. Receive a Myth 1/6 item appropriate for your class.

Venerated Loa Armament Rewards Item Level 318 Gear

Combining three fragments creates a Venerated Loa Armament. Using this token opens a selection interface where the player can choose which eligible equipment slot should receive the reward.

The generated item is:

  • Item level 318
  • Myth 1/6 upgrade track
  • Appropriate for the character's class and armor proficiency
  • Created for a player-selected eligible slot

This is deterministic slot targeting rather than completely deterministic loot. You can decide which part of your equipment needs an upgrade, but the available item and secondary-stat combination may still depend on the reward pool associated with that slot.

Can You Choose a Weapon or Trinket?

No. Current PTR information indicates that the Venerated Loa Armament can create armor and eligible jewelry, but weapons and trinkets are excluded.

That still leaves valuable slots such as the head, shoulders, chest, hands, legs, waist, feet, wrists, cloak, neck, and rings. The system should be particularly helpful when one low-level item is holding back a character's average item level.

How Many Myth Items Can You Get?

The detailed PTR guide currently lists up to six Mythical Soul Fragments from Wah'du's limited questline. If that number remains unchanged, a character could create two Venerated Loa Armaments and receive two Myth 1/6 items.

This appears to be a limited catch-up reward rather than an unlimited weekly source of Myth gear. The final number of obtainable fragments should be confirmed again after Patch 12.1.5 reaches live servers.

Current testing also indicates that missed assignments can be completed later, allowing players to catch up to the total number of quests released so far.

Hero Track Gear Is Also Available

Mythical Soul Fragments are not the only gear progression reward found inside the Labyrinth. Players can also obtain Heroic Soul Fragments from Bountiful Coffers.

Reward Source Requirement Gear Reward
Heroic Soul Fragments Combine 3 fragments Random Hero 2/6 item, level 308
Blessed Loa Armament Found through Ancient Chest exploration Selected eligible Hero-track slot
Mythical Soul Fragments Combine 3 fragments Selected Myth 1/6 slot, level 318

Heroic Soul Fragment rewards are random, while the Blessed and Venerated Loa Armaments allow players to target an eligible slot. This makes exploring the entire Labyrinth worthwhile even after finishing Wah'du's weekly objective.

How the Labyrinth of Kindo'jan Works

The Labyrinth of Kindo'jan is the first large-scale Labyrinth activity added to Midnight. It is built around nine chambers and combines Delve progression with a longer, mega-dungeon-style layout.

Players are accompanied by Valeera Sanguinar and can either complete individual sections or attempt a longer run. Clearing additional chambers increases the number of rewards available in the final treasure room.

Treasure Room Progression

Every three completed chambers increase the contents of the Labyrinth treasure room. A full nine-chamber clear can provide three times the Bountiful Coffer rewards of a standard Delve, assuming the player has enough Restored Coffer Keys to open them.

Labyrinth rewards can include:

  • Champion-track and Warbound equipment
  • Heroic Soul Fragments
  • Mythical Soul Fragments from Wah'du's quests
  • Hero and Myth Mistcrests
  • Undercoin
  • Voidlight Marl
  • Corrosive Coins
  • Rank 5 Curios
  • Transmog appearances
  • Toys and housing decorations
  • Labyrinth Journey and Delve Journey progress

Labyrinth Great Vault Credit

Because the Labyrinth is part of the Delves system, completing its chambers contributes to the Delves row of the Great Vault.

Every three chambers count as one Delve completion at the selected difficulty. Defeating Kindo'jan provides an additional activity completion.

Labyrinth Progress Great Vault Credit
3 chambers 1 activity
6 chambers 2 activities
9 chambers 3 activities
Defeat Kindo'jan 1 additional activity
Full clear with Kindo'jan 4 activities

A complete run can therefore fill a substantial part of the weekly Delve requirement while also providing fragments, crests, currencies, and direct equipment rewards.

Why Deterministic Myth Gear Matters

Obtaining a Myth-track item is useful, but choosing its slot is the real advantage of this system. Raid and Mythic+ rewards can repeatedly land in slots where a character already has strong equipment. The Venerated Loa Armament lets players target a weaker position instead.

The resulting Myth 1/6 item can also be upgraded with Myth Mistcrests. This gives players a clear reason to continue collecting high-level crests even if most of their existing equipment has already reached the Hero track.

The Labyrinth reward should be most useful for:

  • Characters missing one or two Myth-track armor pieces
  • Players progressing mainly through Delves
  • Alts catching up during the second half of Season 2
  • Raiders trying to replace an unlucky low-level slot
  • Mythic+ players saving crests for a guaranteed upgrade

It does not replace raid or Mythic+ gearing because weapons, trinkets, and unlimited Myth items are not available through this system. Instead, it provides targeted bad-luck protection and another route into high-level character progression.

What to Prepare Before Patch 12.1.5

  • Save Restored Coffer Keys: a full Labyrinth clear can contain several Bountiful Coffers.
  • Prepare for Tier 8: Wah'du's fragment objectives require Tier 8 or higher.
  • Check your weakest slots: decide where a Myth 1/6 reward would provide the largest improvement.
  • Keep Myth Mistcrests: the item begins at Myth 1/6 and will need crests for further upgrades.
  • Do not plan around a weapon or trinket: those categories are not included in the selectable reward pool.
  • Complete the introduction early: Wah'du's questline only becomes available after the Labyrinth introduction.
