WoW Midnight Patch 12.1.7: Echoes of the Worldcore Announced
Blizzard has revealed Echoes of the Worldcore, the next content update for World of Warcraft: Midnight. Patch 12.1.7 takes players back to Dornogal, introduces the Talebound action RPG mode and expands the Omnium Folio with additional upgrades.
Collectors also have new goals: Talebound cosmetics, fresh Timewalking housing decorations and the Markeet of the Infinite mount. Meanwhile, four additional Lorewalking stories explore Jaina, Thrall, the Titans and Tyr.

What Is Coming in Echoes of the Worldcore?
| Feature | Main Addition |
|---|---|
| The Return to Dornogal | A campaign investigating the damaged Coreway and access to the Worldcore. |
| Talebound | A PvE action RPG mode with its own characters, stories, progression and cosmetic rewards. |
| Lorewalking | Four stories covering Jaina, Thrall, the Titans and Tyr. |
| Turbulent Timeways | An eight-week event featuring a new mount and additional vendor decor. |
| Omnium Folio | Two additional Motes of Omnial Inquiry and two new runes. |
The Return to Dornogal Campaign
Xal'atath has breached the Worldcore, and reaching it requires finding a way through Dornogal's damaged Coreway. The new campaign brings together Arator, Brinthe, Dagran and Brann to investigate the route beneath the city.
For players following Midnight's main story, this is the next campaign chapter to watch. Blizzard has introduced its premise without publishing a full quest-by-quest breakdown or confirming its completion rewards.
Talebound Brings a New Way to Play
Talebound places players inside the unsettling stories of a mysterious Storyteller. Adventures can be tackled alone or with friends, with enemies, bosses, puzzles and treasures encountered throughout each tale.
Between runs, players return to Quillgrave. Its vendors support future attempts through consumables, talent changes, starting-stat improvements and passive bonuses.
Three Talebound Classes
- Slayer: a monster hunter combining sword attacks, firearms and explosive tools.
- Inquisitor: a Light-wielding combatant using ranged attacks and damaging holy effects.
- Witch: a spellcaster drawing on lightning, poison, familiars and shapeshifting.
All three can double jump, dodge and guard. The four announced launch stories are Darkhaven, Greenthistle Wood, Greywake's Expedition and Grove of the Night Court.
Bound Silver, Ducats and Cosmetic Rewards
Bound Silver is a Warband-bound reward currency earned through quests, achievements and story progress. It pays for cosmetics in the Talebound store, available through the character selection screen, Game Menu or Nib in Quillgrave. Ducats support progression within the mode.
Previewed rewards include the Witch Hunter's Shadow Attire transmog set, Quillgrave Storyteller's Lectern decor, Quillgrave Talebound Shadowtome decor and the Shadowbound Storybook mount.

Players interested in the mode's classes and progression can also consult the Wowhead Talebound overview.
Four New Lorewalking Stories
Characters at level 10 or above can speak with Apprentice Lorewalker Li Li Stormstout to explore the new stories. Their subjects range from Jaina and Thrall's personal histories to the origins and ambitions of the Titans and the significance of Tyr's return.
Lorewalking can be paused and replayed. Other quests cannot progress while a story is active, and starting a different Lorewalking story before finishing the current one resets that story's progress.
Finish one storyline before switching to another if you want to avoid repeating its earlier sections.
Turbulent Timeways Returns for Eight Weeks
The next Turbulent Timeways event begins when Echoes of the Worldcore launches. Its mount reward is the Markeet of the Infinite, earned through Master of the Turbulent Timeways VI.

How to Earn the New Mount
Obtain Mastery of Timeways during any four weeks of the eight-week event. Completing four Timewalking dungeons builds the required buff, which grants a 30% experience bonus.
Additional housing decorations are coming to Timewalking vendors. During the event, Archmage Aethas Sunreaver's Timewalking quests in Silvermoon will also offer a Heroic-level Cache of Quel'Thalas Treasures.
Plan around four separate weekly completions for the mount. Completing extra dungeons in a single week helps with leveling, but it does not replace the remaining weekly requirements.
Omnium Folio Gains Two New Runes
Players will be able to earn two additional Motes of Omnial Inquiry as the Omnium Folio expands. The new options strengthen its existing stat bonuses and Core Rune effects.
| Rune | Announced Effect |
|---|---|
| Rune of Empowerment | Increases the stat granted by Rune of Critical Power, Burning Haste, Masterful Cunning or Versatile Warrior by 20%. |
| Rune of Critical Mass | Adds a chance for Core Rune damage or healing to trigger an additional effect. Void-Touched Orbs can summon three orbs affecting targets within 5 yards. Unleashed Fire can trigger a blast whose damage or healing is split among targets within 10 yards. |
Empowerment improves the selected rune's stat contribution by 20%; that percentage should not be read as a 20% increase to a character's total stat or overall damage. Critical Mass instead adds another effect to evaluate alongside your chosen Core Rune.
Wait for testing and updated specialization guidance before committing to a preferred setup. The announcement gives the effects, but it does not establish a strongest combination for every class.
