March on Quel'Danas — Complete Raid Guide
WoW Midnight · Season 1 · Raid · 2 Bosses
March on Quel'Danas is the final raid of Midnight Season 1 and the narrative endpoint of the expansion's opening tier. Two bosses stand between you and the Sunwell — but both encounters are mechanically dense enough to demand full raid coordination from the first pull. This is not a filler raid. The Light vs. Void polarity system that runs through every mechanic here is unlike anything in Voidspire or Dreamrift, and understanding it before you zone in is the difference between a clean clear and an evening of wipes on overlapping color mechanics.
Raid Overview

March on Quel'Danas with Normal, Heroic, and Mythic difficulties. Raid Finder and Story Mode unlock one week later, on April 7, 2026.
The raid is located on the Isle of Quel'Danas, accessible via flight paths from Silvermoon City or portals within the new expansion hubs. The entrance coordinates are /way #2424 52.6 87.5 near the Sunwell Plateau. Required level is 90.

You need at least item level 220 to queue for the Raid Finder version.
Available difficulties: Story Mode, Raid Finder, Normal, Heroic, Mythic.
Bosses in order: Belo'ren, Child of Al'ar → Midnight Falls (L'ura)
The Story
The raid takes place at the Sunwell on the Isle of Quel'Danas. By the time players arrive, darkness has fully swallowed the isle and the skies over nearby Silvermoon. The raid's story revolves around the Sunwell being transformed by the power of L'ura, the fallen naaru once encountered on Argus. Her corrupted essence now threatens to turn the well into something far more dangerous, referred to as the Darkwell.
The first boss is Belo'ren, a phoenix tied to the legacy of Al'ar. Rather than being a purely evil force, Belo'ren comes across as a tragic guardian — raised to protect Quel'Danas and the Sunwell, the creature has been warped by Void exposure and now attacks anyone who approaches. The encounter feels less like putting down a monster and more like facing a protector that no longer understands who the real threat is.
The final fight, Midnight Falls, is not a traditional boss battle. Instead, players face the corruption itself, fighting to prevent the Sunwell from being completely consumed.
Core Mechanic — Light vs. Void Polarity
Every major mechanic in this raid runs through a single system: Light vs. Void Polarity. Understanding it before your first pull is not optional.
At the start of the fight, players are infused with either a Light Feather (Gold) or a Void Feather (Purple). This assignment determines which mechanics they can safely interact with and which responsibilities they can fulfill during the fight.
These feathers provide powerful elemental mitigation. Being infused with a specific feather grants absorption against its matching element, which is required to survive high-damage mechanics such as Dive soaks, Edicts, and other color-based effects.
Interacting with the opposing color — a Light-infused player touching a Void orb or attempting to soak a Void mechanic — is typically lethal. This applies consistently across the encounter, making correct positioning and awareness critical at all times.
Several mechanics require cross-group coordination, especially orb clearing and soak setup. Clearing orb paths or soaking damage correctly often enables safe movement or survival for players of the other polarity. Misalignment between groups is one of the most common causes of wipes.
Boss 1 — Belo'ren, Child of Al'ar

A two-phase fight built around the Rebirth cycle. Belo'ren's actual health pool is tied to the Immortal Flame — represented by the boss's stationary Egg form. The Phoenix form in Phase 1 is an execution check that must be cleared before meaningful damage reaches the boss's true health.
Phase 1 — Phoenix Form
The boss summons Light and Void Ember Phoenixes that target players of the opposite color with a Dive attack. These adds must be controlled and positioned quickly, as improper placement will disrupt soak positioning and limit safe space in later overlaps.
Dive soaking — To survive the Dive, players of the matching color must stack within the circle to split the damage. Failing to properly split the soak is typically lethal and often results in immediate raid destabilization. The recommended strategy is to stack these circles behind the boss — this allows for immediate cleave damage once the adds land and keeps the arena controlled for upcoming mechanics.
Egg destruction — Once a Light or Void Ember Phoenix is defeated, it becomes a small egg. These must be destroyed within 15 seconds, or the add respawns at full health. Failing to clear eggs consistently leads to exponential add pressure in later cycles and is one of the most common wipe conditions.
Radiant Echoes — Walls of orbs float across the arena. Contact with the wrong color is typically lethal, making orb management a strict polarity check. Matching-color players must clear 3–4 orbs to create a gap — this is a selfless mechanic, creating a lane for players of the opposite color to pass safely. On higher difficulties, these orbs can bounce off arena walls, making their paths less predictable and increasing the importance of early clearing.
Infused Quills — A player is targeted by a quill of the opposite color. After a 6-second delay, the quill fires. A player matching the projectile's color must stand in the path to act as a bodyguard. Failure to intercept correctly results in lethal damage to the targeted player.
Movement philosophy — Movement in this encounter should be proactive rather than reactive. Players should always position themselves with their next safe location in mind, especially when orb walls and quills overlap. Late movement is the primary cause of deaths during overlapping mechanics.
Phase 2 — Immortal Flame (Egg Phase)
At 0 HP, Belo'ren transforms into an egg and begins Rebirth — a 30-second cast. Players must destroy the egg to finish the fight. Damage output in this phase is a pure DPS race against the Rebirth timer. Use all offensive cooldowns immediately. If Rebirth completes, Belo'ren returns to full Phoenix form and the cycle restarts — every subsequent Rebirth adds escalating pressure to the raid.
Role Strategy
Tanks: keep Belo’ren facing you, swap after Edict stacks.
Healers: The highest-damage windows are Dive soaks with incomplete splits and Infused Quill interception failures. Keep players topped before known soak events. Spot healing quill interceptors is critical since they intentionally take damage from a mechanic targeting someone else.
DPS: Assign clear polarity responsibilities before the pull. Know which adds you're soaking, which orbs you're clearing, and which quills you're intercepting. Egg phase — stop everything and burn. Missing the Rebirth timer resets your progress and adds fatigue to the next attempt.
Common Wipe Causes
Most mechanics in this encounter are interconnected and failures rarely occur in isolation. Mistakes compound quickly — missed soaks, failed orb clears, or delayed quill interceptions overlap with other mechanics, creating scenarios where recovery is no longer possible. Clean execution of each mechanic is what prevents the fight from spiraling out of control.

Boss 2 — Midnight Falls (L'ura)

The final boss of Season 1 and the confrontation with L'ura — the fallen naaru whose corruption is transforming the Sunwell into the Darkwell. This is not a standard boss fight. Players face the corruption of the Sunwell itself, and the Light vs. Void polarity system from Belo'ren continues here in a more extreme form.
Key Abilities
https://www.wowhead.com/beta/spell=1244412/deaths-dirge: L'ura sings a dreadful melody before marking players with a Dark Rune corresponding to each note. She then fires a sweeping laser, activating each Dark Rune hit.
https://www.wowhead.com/beta/spell=1253915/heavens-glaives: L'ura spins and unleashes whirling blades that rapidly eviscerate any players in their proximity for up to (50 * 5) Cosmic damage. This damage is reduced as the blades lose speed.
https://www.wowhead.com/beta/spell=1249584/dissonance: A grim clamor echoes through the chamber, inflicting 252528 Cosmic damage to all players every 1 sec for 5 sec.
Role Strategy
Tanks: https://www.wowhead.com/beta/spell=1263970/heavens-lance: L'ura regenerates a halo of glass ornaments over time. Upon reaching 5 applications, her next melee attack forges the glass into spikes that fire into the target. Each spike inflicts 30 Cosmic damage and applies Impaled.
Healers: Duskfall recovery is the hardest healing window in the raid. Players who barely survive a Duskfall outside a well enter the next mechanics critically low. Pre-heal before every Duskfall cast. Track healing absorption from Shattered Radiance and prioritize dispelling it.
DPS: Add control before Duskfall is your primary responsibility. Light wells only appear where adds die — kills need to happen at specific positions to ensure wells land in usable locations for the raid. Coordinate with tanks on positioning before every add spawn.

Tier Set Token
Midnight Falls is the only boss in this raid that drops a tier set token — the https://www.wowhead.com/item=249367/chiming-void-curio. This universal token can be exchanged for a tier set piece for any class, making it one of the most flexible tier drops available in Season 1. Unlike the armor-type specific tokens from Voidspire and Dreamrift, the Chiming Void Curio works regardless of your class or armor type. Every raider benefits from farming this boss.
Profession Recipe
There is one Blacksmithing recipe that drops from the final boss: https://www.wowhead.com/item=258519/plans-magisters-valediction.
Housing Decorations
The raid drops five unique housing decorations with Light and Void themes. Reported drops include a Phoenix Ash Brazier from Belo'ren and a https://www.wowhead.com/item=267646/march-on-queldanas-vanquishers-argent-trophy from Midnight Falls.
Mount
https://www.wowhead.com/item=246590/ashes-of-beloren drops from the Midnight Falls encounter on Mythic difficulty. Each Midnight Falls kill will drop 3 mounts until the release of the next WoW expansion, The Last Titan. After that point, the drop rate reduces to 1%.

Progression Notes
Most competitive guilds will clear Voidspire and Dreamrift in the first two weeks, then pivot to March on Quel'Danas when it opens on March 31. The timeline for Cutting Edge is aggressive for guilds without previous Mythic experience. Ahead of the Curve is significantly more relaxed — you have until the final raid tier releases in Season 2 (likely September 2026) to defeat all bosses on Heroic.
The Voidspire drops tier tokens for helmet, shoulders, gloves, and legs across all difficulties. Combined with the chest token from Dreamrift and the flexible Chiming Void Curio tokens from March on Quel'Danas, players can complete their full tier set across all three raids.
Quick Tips for Your First Clear
- Enable the Tritanopia colorblind filter before pulling Belo'ren. Color accuracy directly affects your ability to execute polarity mechanics.
- Assign polarity responsibilities in raid chat before the first pull — who soaks which adds, who clears which orbs, who intercepts which quills.
- On Belo'ren, never let eggs sit unbroken past 10 seconds. The 15-second respawn timer looks generous until your group has two overlapping add cycles running simultaneously.
- On Midnight Falls, assign DPS to add kill positions before the fight starts. Light wells only appear where adds die — uncontrolled positioning means wells spawn in unreachable locations during Duskfall.
- Void-Lashed Chain pairs should immediately identify their partner when tethered. Pre-position so no mechanic forces you apart during the tether window.
- Healing absorption from Shattered Radiance must be cleared before any Duskfall. Players entering Duskfall with an active absorption shield have a near-zero survival margin.
