New Mounts in WoW Midnight Patch 12.1.5

The first Patch 12.1.5 PTR build has revealed several new World of Warcraft mount models. The collection ranges from a customizable five-million-gold utility mount to a Drust cauldron, an ancient loa construct, food-delivery motorcycles and corrupted creatures.

Some of these mounts already have confirmed acquisition methods. Others currently exist only in the game files, with unfinished source information or placeholder names. Their models, availability and requirements may change before release.

Sporebearer Fungal Strider

Sporebearer Fungal Strider is the largest addition in this PTR build. The massive fungal creature functions as a customizable utility mount with two passenger slots for useful NPCs.

The mount is sold by Showena inside the Den in Harandar for 5,000,000 gold.

Customizable Mount Vendors

The basic version includes a repair vendor and mailbox. Players can purchase two additional utility options and then speak with Hoshena to change which passengers appear on the mount.

Limited-Time Availability

The Sporebearer Fungal Strider will only be sold until the end of the Midnight expansion. Blizzard currently plans to keep the passenger customization system available after Midnight, including access to purchased utility NPCs.

Learning the mount also awards the Fungal Not Frugal Feat of Strength.

Living Heartsbane Cauldron

Living Heartsbane Cauldron is a Drust-themed mount built from the familiar wicker construct design.

The rider travels inside a living cauldron, combining Drust witchcraft with a deliberately unusual mount silhouette. The PTR database currently lists its source as the In-Game Shop.

No price, release date or bundle information has been published. Its appearance in the Patch 12.1.5 files does not necessarily mean it will become available on the same day as the patch.

Loa-Blessed Wayfarer

Loa-Blessed Wayfarer is an ancient construct tasked with carrying spirits into De Other Side.

The mount is connected to the new Labyrinth of Kindo'jan. To unlock it, players must complete the Let Me Solo Him: Kindo'Jan achievement.

The current requirement is to defeat Kindo'jan in his Labyrinth on Tier 11 without any other players in the party during Midnight Season 2.

The achievement is a seasonal solo challenge, but it does not currently carry the first-reset restriction attached to the separate Fabled Kindo'jan title.

Hot Motocross Bunmover Mounts

Patch 12.1.5 contains four versions of a food-themed motorcycle called the Hot Motocross Bunmover. Each version uses a different color scheme and model number.

The PTR database points to the Trading Post as the source for all four models. Their individual months, Trader's Tender prices and possible bundle arrangements are currently unknown.

Corrupted Swarmer

Corrupted Swarmer is a flying Aqir mount covered in dark corruption. Its description explains that Aqir swarmers grow their ranks by feeding on fallen heroes and cowards alike.

The database still lists its acquisition method as TODO. A connection to the new Aqir Invasion events would fit its theme, but Blizzard has not confirmed that source.

Unidentified Fel Wolf Mount

The final model is a fel-corrupted wolf with an undead appearance. Wowhead's preview contains two images, but the mount does not yet have a confirmed name, item entry or acquisition method.

Community suggestions have connected it to Legion, Warlords of Draenor and possible future rewards, but none of those sources are supported by the current PTR data. For now, it should be treated as an unidentified datamined model.
