Talebound is bringing more than cosmetic rewards to World of Warcraft. Recent discoveries on the Patch 12.1.7 PTR suggest that players will also be able to earn raid gear, upgrade materials, bonus rolls and experience potions for their main characters.

Among the most interesting rewards are two caches containing Mythic Venomous Abyss gear and enough Venomstones to upgrade eligible Season 2 items.

Two Mythic Venomous Abyss Gear Caches

The biggest discovery for raiders is the Cache of Mythic Treasures. Its PTR description indicates that it contains an item from the Mythic version of Venomous Abyss for your loot specialization.

The cache is Warband-bound and requires level 90 to open. Two achievements are currently associated with this reward:

The PTR information does not confirm that players will be able to choose a specific item from the cache. The final rewards and requirements may also change before the update goes live.

Normal and Heroic Raid Gear

Mythic caches are not the only raid rewards. The PTR also lists one Cache of Champion Treasures and five Caches of Heroic Treasures, associated with various Talebound achievements.

The Normal cache is linked to It's Just a Normal Tale, which requires completing a story on Normal difficulty or higher. Heroic caches are tied to additional difficulty and Final Confrontation achievements.

Up to 40 Venomstones for Season 2 Upgrades

Talebound achievements also point to four Venomstone Caches. Each cache contains 10 Venomstones, for a potential total of 40 Venomstones.

The caches are associated with completing the Final Confrontation at different difficulty levels:

• Normal Final Confrontation achievement
• Veteran Final Confrontation achievement
• Heroic Final Confrontation achievement
• Mythic Final Confrontation achievement

Venomstones are used to upgrade eligible Season 2 items through the Ascendant system. That makes these caches particularly useful if you already have fully upgraded gear that qualifies for the additional upgrade.

Check each achievement's requirements before planning your runs. It is not yet clear whether completing a higher difficulty will automatically award progress for every lower-difficulty achievement.

Bonus Rolls from Nebulous Voidcaches

Three Nebulous Voidcaches have also been found among the rewards. They are connected to achievements for obtaining all improvements for the three Talebound classes:

• Slayer improvement achievement
• Witch improvement achievement
• Inquisitor improvement achievement

These caches provide access to the bonus-roll resource used for another chance at eligible rewards. A bonus roll is an additional opportunity, not a guarantee that you will receive a particular item.

Upgrade Crests and Profession Materials

Players working on Season 2 gear may also find crest rewards useful. The PTR lists pouches containing a total of:

• 20 Champion crests
• 40 Hero crests
• 40 Myth crests

These rewards are associated with achievements for earning Ducats in Talebound. The final reward structure and collection requirements remain subject to PTR changes.

Two profession-related rewards have also appeared: a Packed Alchemy Crate and an Outfitter's Crate. They are linked to the Arcanist and Outfitter achievement lines respectively.

Experience Potions for Leveling

Four experience potions have been found among the puzzle-related rewards. Each provides 10% additional experience for two hours, making them potentially useful for leveling another character.

Each potion is associated with a different puzzle achievement, so players interested in all four will need to explore beyond a single story.

Voidlight Marl and Additional Collectibles

The newly discovered rewards also include up to 7,500 Voidlight Marl across several achievements.

A few additional collectibles have appeared in the PTR data as well:

• Wood-Cursed Hearthstone, associated with The Tale Complete.
• Hexed Tiny Tome, associated with Stories Shared.
• The Fate of Quillgrave Warband campsite, linked to The Final Confrontation.
