WHAT CHANGED IN TRIALS WITH MONUMENT OF TRIUMPH
Monument of Triumph resets all Trials engrams at launch — spend any existing engrams before June 9. New Trials engrams and score-based end-of-match rewards can drop all the new gear, while the focused gear system changes to a pool of weapons instead of a single focused item.
The new Trials weapon pool includes the Arc Adaptive Burst Linear Fusion Rifle Willful Hamartia alongside returning weapons Reed's Regret and Yesterday's Question. Reprised classics including The Messenger, The Summoner, Igneous Hammer, Shayura's Wrath, Eye of Sol, and more are back in the rotation.
Trials of Osiris runs every weekend except when Iron Banner is active, continuing to require SMS verification and expansion ownership. The map pool expands with Monument of Triumph's Crucible overhaul — more maps in rotation means more variety and more Triumph opportunities per card.
WHY TRIALS OF OSIRIS IS HARD TO GO FLAWLESS SOLO
Trials is a 3v3 elimination mode where one loss can end your Flawless run. Three things make solo queuing consistently painful:
The Flawless pool. Once a team goes Flawless, they enter a separate matchmaking bracket against other Flawless players. If you queue into the Flawless pool without a coordinated team, every match is against players who have already proven they can go 7-0.
Team coordination. Trials punishes solo players more than any other mode in Destiny 2. A single teammate who doesn't communicate callouts, hold lanes incorrectly, or burns cooldowns at wrong times collapses the round regardless of your individual performance.
Meta dependency. Monument of Triumph's sandbox updates change handling and reload speeds for Primary ammo weapons and introduce new passive bonuses based on ally status. Players who don't adapt to the new sandbox lose gunfights against players who do — regardless of mechanical skill.
