Boss Strategy

The Golden Serpent Strategy

The Golden Serpent is the first boss and is mainly about controlling Molten Gold puddles. Players targeted by Spit Gold should move away from the boss and place puddles in clean, predictable spots.

When Lucre's Call activates, the puddles turn into Animated Gold. Kill the adds before they reach the boss, because any Animated Gold that reaches The Golden Serpent makes the boss harder to finish.

Tanks should use defensives for Tail Thrash, and healers should prepare for Serpentine Gust. Keep the room organized so the add wave does not turn into a timer loss.

Mchimba the Embalmer Strategy

Mchimba the Embalmer is a control and reaction fight. The most important mechanic is Entomb, which locks a player inside one of the coffins. The group needs to identify the correct coffin quickly and free the player before extra mummies create more pressure.

Drain Fluids requires healing attention, while Burn Corruption should be placed away from the group. Do not overlap fire patches in the middle of the room, especially on Fortified weeks where trash damage before and after the boss already taxes healer cooldowns.

When adds appear from Awakening Slam, interrupt their casts and kill them before the room gets messy. A clean Mchimba pull saves a lot of time in Kings' Rest.

The Council of Tribes Strategy

The Council of Tribes cycles through three councilors, with defeated councilors returning briefly to use single abilities. The fight starts with Kula the Butcher, then moves through the rest of the council until all three are defeated.

Barrel Through should be stacked and split properly. Tanks need to manage Debilitating Backhand, because the physical damage taken debuff can become deadly if handled poorly.

Zanazal the Wise is the biggest interrupt check. Stop Poison Nova, kill Explosive Totem immediately, and avoid losing players to preventable Call of the Elements damage.

Dazar, The First King Strategy

Dazar, The First King is the final boss and the main movement check of Kings' Rest. At 80% health, Dazar mounts T'zala, adding more movement and tank pressure to the fight.

Interrupt Deathly Roar, dodge Quaking Leap, and be ready to move when Gilded Destruction is cast. Spears can appear where players are standing, so do not get caught flat-footed during the overlap.

Tanks should use defensives for Blade Combo and watch the extra physical damage taken from T'zala's attacks. DPS should prioritize clean movement over greed, especially when leap zones, spear impacts, and frontal danger happen close together.

Trash Tips for Mythic+

  • Plan for full trash count. Kings' Rest routes are tight, and groups should expect to clear the dungeon carefully instead of skipping too much.
  • Purge Minions of Zul. Their shield can make pulls much slower if your group does not remove it quickly.
  • Split the second boss room cleanly. The Mchimba area can be handled in two controlled pulls, one side at a time.
  • Kill Healing Tide Totems fast. The hallway before The Council of Tribes can waste a lot of time if totems stay alive.
  • Respect Shadow of Zul soaks. Players should stay inside soak zones when required, spread with circles, and purge Minions of Zul when they spawn.
  • Move during Dazar's spear moments. When Gilded Destruction happens, be ready for spears to spawn on player locations.

Nebulous Voidcore Bonus Rolls

In Midnight Season 2 Mythic+, players can spend Nebulous Voidcores at the end of a dungeon for bonus loot. This gives an additional chance at class-eligible gear from a separate Bonus Loot table.

Once a specific item is earned through the Bonus Loot system, it is removed from that character's Bonus Loot table and cannot be earned again that way. This makes Kings' Rest especially useful for players chasing targeted pieces such as Geti'ikku, Cut of Death, Ritual Binder's Ring, or trinkets like Lustrous Golden Plumage and Stormbound Emblem of Dazar.
