World of Warcraft: Midnight Patch 12.1.5 launches on October 13, 2026 in North America and October 14 in Europe. Despite being a mid-season update, this is considerably larger than a routine balance patch.
The update adds a new story campaign, a focused raid against Kith'ix, the first Labyrinth, hourly Aqir Invasions, a 3,600-rating Mythic+ achievement, Ascendant Venomstones, three collectible mounts, Prey catch-up mechanics, class adjustments, Housing improvements, and Warband-wide reputation support for two previous expansions.

WoW Patch 12.1.5 Release Schedule
Not every progression feature becomes available on launch day. Blizzard is dividing the mid-season power update across three weekly resets.

What to Complete Before the Patch
Players should accept In the Catalyst's Shadow from Decimus in Voidstorm and then complete Prismatic Potential from Orin Straylight in Silvermoon City.
Completing these quests early allows Orin to begin his research. Once the research finishes, Umbral Blessings of the Catalyst unlocks the option to exchange gold, Voidlight Marl, or Veteran Mistcrests for one additional Nebulous Voidcore each week.
The Promise of Tomorrow Story Campaign
The new campaign deals with the consequences of Ula'tek's defeat. The entity that had been keeping Kith'ix imprisoned is gone, and the ancient C'Thraxxi general is beginning to break free beneath the Coiled Isle.
Quel'Thalas and Zul'Aman must establish an uneasy peace while their champions descend into the deepest section of the island. The campaign ultimately leads into the confrontation with Kith'ix and brings the current Quel'Thalas and Zul'Aman storyline to its conclusion.
This chapter is especially important for players following Midnight's main narrative. The Kith'ix raid is not a disconnected side activity: it serves as the campaign's final battle.

The Unbinding of Kith'ix is a focused single-boss raid hidden beneath the Venomous Abyss. Players confront the C'Thraxxi general with Lady Liadrin fighting at their side.
The raid is available in Story Mode, Raid Finder, Normal, Heroic, and Mythic. Mythic difficulty supports a flexible group of 15 to 25 players, making it easier for guilds to organize a roster for this standalone encounter.

Complete Kith'ix Loot Table
Kith'ix drops four cantrip armor pieces, two weapons, three role-specific trinkets, a ring, a toy, and a Housing decoration. The four armor pieces occupy tier-set slots and can be converted through the Catalyst while retaining their special cantrip effects.

Labyrinth of Kindo'jan
Labyrinths expand the Delve formula into a longer, mega-dungeon-like activity. The first one is an ancient Amani funeral complex called the Labyrinth of Kindo'jan.
A complete expedition contains nine chambers. Players can attempt the entire Labyrinth in one session or complete individual wings over time. Finishing more chambers creates additional opportunities for treasure but also increases the danger of the run.
Labyrinths support solo and group play, use difficulty tiers from 1 to 11, and have their own progression and unlock systems. Valeera Sanguinar serves as the companion who accompanies players through the complex.

Aqir Invasions

Aqir Invasions are new zone-wide public events taking place in Eversong or Zul'Aman. An invasion begins every hour and lasts for ten minutes.
During the event, players complete a chain of public objectives before confronting a final boss. Six different scenario types are available: three combat scenarios and three non-combat scenarios. Rewards improve as the zone completes more objectives within the time limit, so spreading out and cooperating with other players will be more efficient than remaining in a single group.

The activity introduces the Aqir Research Enclave reputation. Reaching Exalted unlocks the Aqir Research Associate achievement and access to the Corrupted Swarmer mount reward.
Ascendant Venomstones and the Mid-Season Power Increase

Ascendant Venomstones are the Season 2 replacement for Ascendant Voidcores. They become obtainable during the week of October 20, after completing Ancient Depths, Ancient Venom and the follow-up quest Ascending with Venomstones.
Where Ascendant Venomstones Drop
- Every Heroic or Mythic raid boss
- Mythic+ dungeons at Keystone level +10 or higher
- Tier 11 Bountiful Delves
- Nightmare Prey Hunt Champion gear chests
Collecting 10 Ascendant Venomstones allows a player to enhance one eligible item near the Catalyst in Silvermoon City.
Eligible Venomstone Items
- Fully upgraded Season 2 Hero-track weapons, trinkets, or necklaces
- Fully upgraded Season 2 Myth-track weapons, trinkets, or necklaces
- Maximum-quality Tidal Crafted weapons, trinkets, or necklaces
Necklaces are a new option for Season 2. Because a well-itemized necklace is unlikely to be replaced quickly, it may be one of the safest Venomstone targets. Players should still simulate their character before committing the upgrade.
The seasonal Crest cap is also removed when Venomstones become available, allowing players to finish upgrading additional gear without waiting for another weekly increase.
Midnight Keystone Myth: Season 2
Keystone Myth returns as the primary mid-season challenge for dedicated Mythic+ players. The new achievement requires a Mythic+ rating of at least 3,600.
Completing Midnight Keystone Myth: Season 2 awards:
- The Venomous Contender title
- A Timelost Saddle
Blizzard is also planning targeted dungeon tuning with Patch 12.1.5 to address difficulty outliers. The new raid, Mythic Labyrinth gear, removed Crest cap, and Ascendant Venomstones should give players additional power for the second half of the push.
Players who want to prepare a character for higher keys can also use the WoW Mythic+ boost service for Season 2 gearing, rating progression, and timed dungeon runs.

Sporebearer Fungal Strider Utility NPCs
The Fungal Strider includes a mailbox and repair vendor by default. Players can purchase additional passenger options and select which two NPCs travel on the mount.

The mount itself is available only for the duration of Midnight. Once purchased, access to its interchangeable NPCs remains available after the expansion ends.

Prey Catch-Up System
Patch 12.1.5 makes it considerably easier for late-starting and returning players to complete the Season 2 Prey Journey.
- Characters below Rank 4 receive 4,000 Journey progress per hunt, which equals one full rank.
- Characters from Rank 4 through Rank 8 receive 2,000 progress from each of their first four hunts per week.
- Afflicted and Tormented Souls must now be used between hunts and cannot be activated during an active hunt.
This catch-up is intended to help players reach the Journey rewards, including Housing decor and Hero-track equipment obtained alongside Delve progression.
Housing Improvements
- Page Up and Page Down now switch floors while using Floorplan Edit Mode.
- Players can assign custom keybinds for changing floors.
- The Housing Controls blueprint button now includes a shortcut to the Blueprint Collection.
- Connected stairwell rooms are included when exporting multi-floor blueprints.
- The Blueprint Contents List no longer displays dyes already supplied by matching dyed decor.
- Dye tooltips now identify the item required to apply each color.
- Public Neighborhoods can no longer receive the same Endeavor twice in succession.
Additional foliage and retroactive achievement decorations have appeared in PTR data, but their final availability and sources should be verified after launch.
User Interface and Accessibility Updates
- Player coordinates can be displayed below the minimap.
- Coordinates can use integers or decimal values and can be disabled completely.
- Raid frames can display an animated dashed border around units with dispellable effects.
- The dispel overlay can use a pulsing transparency animation.
- Pinging a macro now includes its #showtooltip information.
- The new Pulse Your Health audio setting plays an increasingly urgent sound below a selected health threshold.
- Trading Post preview settings, including Combat Animation, remain selected when switching between items.
Warband-Wide Reputations
Reputations from Legion and Battle for Azeroth become shared across the entire Warband.
Progress earned on different characters will contribute to the same account-wide reputation. This should make older mounts, pets, toys, profession recipes, transmog, and Paragon rewards much easier to farm without repeating the same reputation grind on every alt.
Achievement Adjustments
In addition to the new Labyrinth and Keystone Myth achievements, Blizzard has made Glory of the Wartorn Hero easier to complete.
The following achievements are no longer required for the meta-achievement:
