Prey System Guide for WoW: Midnight
1. What is the Prey System? Prey is a new, optional hunting system introduced in the Midnight expansion. It allows players to track down and pursue powerful foes across the new zones for various valuable rewards.

2. How to Enable the System As the system is entirely optional, you must enable it manually:
- Travel to Silvermoon City, specifically the Murder Row district.
- Find Magister Astalor Bloodsworn.
- Accept a contract from him and select your target for the hunt.

3. How Prey Works Once you pick a contract, you can continue playing through the zones as you normally would. The core of the system lies in its unpredictability. Your chosen target can ambush you at any moment, such as when you are in the middle of completing a World Quest.

4. Prey Difficulties The Prey system is available in three distinct difficulty levels:
- Normal: Other players in the open world are permitted to assist you in defeating your target.
- Hard: Enemies on this difficulty utilize the "Torments" mechanic, which empowers them with additional, enhanced abilities.
- Nightmare: This is the most challenging mode. The target is extremely formidable, and raid groups are not permitted to engage — you must rely on yourself or a small group.
5. Rewards
Participation in the Prey system grants significant bonuses:
- Credit toward the Great Vault, offering a chance at Hero-track loot, similar to the rewards from Delves.
- Mana wyrm-themed mounts.
- Various cosmetic items.
